LESSON TEN
Exercise Seven
For this exercise, we will continue using the Over Laying technique to build accuracy and confidence. Your goal is to trace the S-Curve ten times, aiming to replicate the example line as closely as possible. Focus on hitting the targets along the curve, and strive for a level of precision where your repeated lines visually merge into one fluid stroke. The purpose of this exercise is to help you build the instinctive ability to land specific lines both quickly and accurately, an essential skill for expressive artwork.
Remember, perfection is not the goal here. What matters is learning to communicate through your lines, and this becomes easier as you allow your hand to relax and flow naturally. With time and practice, your accuracy will improve and the exercise will become easier.
S-Curves
S-Curves are the natural evolution of the C-Curve, and as the name suggests, they resemble the shape of the letter āSā. S-Curves can vary endlessly in their shape and flow, so feel free to experiment with different version when you practice.
