Assignment One
Drawing Boxes in One Point Perspective
For this assignment you will practice drawing boxes in one point perspective.
After placing your horizon line and vanishing point, draw in the front planes of your boxes. I like to focus on one thing at a time, as it seems to expedite the process. Connect the front planes to the appropriate vanishing point. Lastly, clean everything up by drawing over the initial lines while also determining the length of each box.
In the last video I mentioned how important drawing boxes is as a skill, because you can draw practically anything using basic forms in some combination or modification of boxes, cylinders, and spheres. Here is where we start to develop those skills by understanding how the 3D space works and learning how to manipulate shapes within it.
That is the basis of this class - being able to derive complex forms from simpler ones.
