ASSIGNMENT THREE

Planes and Circles in Three Point Perspective

For this Assignment you are going to practice drawing circles in three point perspective. Start by establishing your three vanishing points. Two on the horizon line, and one opposite it. It doesn’t matter where you put the horizon line, as long as it is located near the edge of the page and the third Vanishing Point is located on the opposite edge.

Rather than the vertical lines of your planes being parallel to one another, they recede towards a vanishing point. Trace your verticals back towards one vanishing point, and your horizontal lines towards another.

Divide the planes with an X and then using the same two vanishing points you used to draw in the planes, divide the planes vertically and horizontally.

Although the squares are oddly shaped, drawing the ellipses remains the same as before, even though the final result will appear askew compared to the other Assignments.

To complete this assignment

  1. Create a sheet and draw at least 24 planes and circles in 3 Point Perspective as shown in the video.

  2. Post your results on Discord under assignments and feedback.
