THE CHARACTER

CHARACTER CREATION

Every story begins with a spark—and every spark needs someone to carry it. So, to get started on your adventure, let’s create the unique character - the lens through which this world will be seen. Now is your time to imagine freely. Who will you be in this realm of ink and wonder? A daring dreamweaver? A shy scribbler who conjures creatures from sketches? A warrior who wields a charcoal blade? Or perhaps something altogether unexpected? Let your imagination run wild. Craft a persona that resonates with you—someone you’re excited to explore. Your character isn’t set in stone (or ink)—they can evolve, just as you will, with each stroke of the journey ahead.

The better you come to understand who you are in this world, the more vivid and magical your path will become. So take a deep breath… pick up your pen… and begin.

Choose Your:

Species

Every character comes from somewhere; a lineage from which their story begins. You can walk a familiar path, such as a human, dwarf, or elf - or instead: set your creativity free! Craft something mystical, magical or wild—trust your vision and let the extraordinary take shape.

Ability

A character’s ability could be obvious. A fighter may rely on a pure strength; or they could take advantage of being swift and nimble. Choose One: Strength, Dexterity, Constitution, Intelligence, Wisdom, or Charisma.

Class

A character’s class offers a glimpse into their talents and hints at what they excel at or what kind of skills and abilities they wield. Common examples include Fighters, Wizards, Clerics, and Rouges, but you are free to shape a path uniquely your own.

Environment

While a character’s species, class,  profession, and abilities can reveal a lot about who they are, the world they inhabit gives added nuance and depth. The environment they call home can shape who they are as a person.

Profession

While a character’s Class reveals their broader talents, their Profession speaks to their role in the world. A fighter, for example, could be a sell-sword for hire; or alternatively a sworn knight serving a king. What Profession will you don?

Gear or Equipment

By establishing a clear picture of who your character is, what they do, and where they dwell, you can begin to uncover what pins,  baubles, or curios  they carry on their person. Even the smallest trinket can reveal an interesting story.

Backstory

To what depths you explore your character is entirely up to you, although the effort you invest can greatly enrich the path yet drawn. Consider their general demeanor, their standing in society, and the nature of their bonds with friends and kin. Reflect on their defining traits, the pull of their moral compass, and the forces that drive them forward. Consider an animal companion that may join them, or are served by a familiar bound by the arcane. These details can add vibrant hues to the canvas you are weaving, threads of myth, legend, and destiny.
